The Golden Princess is a cruise ship for Princess Cruises that went into service in 2001. She is the sister ship of the Grand Princess and the Star Princess. She weighs in at 109,000 tons and carries 2,600 passengers (Double Occupancy) plus 1,100 crew members. Features include three formal dining rooms, three modern show lounges, a world-class art collection, several pools, a nine-hole putting course, and a video game arcade.

Amenities
The Ship itself is a wonder surpassing many of the other choices on the high seas. She features a mini golf course (9 holes), a video arcade, a children's camp, a devoted teen center, several pools, a spa, a gym, a screening room (for recent movie releases), multiples bars around the ship, and several modern themed show lounges.
Restaurants
The restaurants onboard are quite numerous and have an interesting layout. The ships main restaurants, which honor Personal Choice Dining (A Princess service that allows a passenger to dine at a designated restaurant at whatever time they please), are layed out on three different decks on three different areas of the ship; 2 aft and 1 midships. This unusual setting allows for the "big ship setting, small ship feeling" to really take effect. This effect, which is solely used by Princess Cruises involves taking a large ship, such as the Golden Princess, the Grand Princess, or the Caribbean Princess and making it feel as if one was sailing on a much smaller ship, by simply placing certain amenities and attractions in certain places, like the restaurants, which are split over different decks and locations.
There are several other options for dining onboard these include:
- The Lido Grill: A buffet style restaurant usually open for the majority of the time, and is usually the most causal onboard
- Sabatini's: An Italian 5 course Cuisine, and one of the ship's two specialty restaurants, however, this restaurant does charge a small entrance fee of $20 USD
- Sterling Steakhouse: A traditional steakhouse, but like Sabatini's, a cover charge applies

Eventually, by next summer, the Golden Princess will be regularly cruising the western coast of the United States and Mexico with stops in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Acapulco, Mazatlan, and more. Rooms
The sizes of the rooms onboard vary based on the amount one would be willing to pay for them, but There are several standards one can observe.
- Interior Rooms
- Interior rooms are pretty much the same throughout the ship. Each has a private bathroom, 2 twin beds that convert to queen, small fridge, decent sized closet, and a television. Totals about 160 square feet.
- Oceanview (portholes)
- Oceanview room similar to interior room with exception of porthole window. Decent lighting, but is only found in the lower decks of the ship. Totals about 168 square feet.
- Oceanview Rooms
- Similar to Oceanview with portholes with the exception that windows are square instead of circular. Can be anywhere from the lower to middle decks. Totals about 168 square feet.
- Oceanview (Obscured)
- Oceanview stateroom with normal windows. The only obstruction is the lifeboats that semi-cover the windows. Location is only on Emerald deck. Size of obstruction depends on location. Totals about 168 square feet.
- Balcony Rooms
- Balcony staterooms include a balcony, and include all previously listed features. They are slightly larger given the balcony. Totals go from 214 to 257 square feet (including the balcony).
- Family Suites
- The equivalent of two rooms connected by a living room. Includes all previously listed features with the exception of an oversized balcony. Sleeps up to 8 persons.
- Mini-Suites
- Includes all features previously listed and an additional t.v. for a total of two, a walk in closet, and a bathroom with both tub and shower. Also includes separate sitting area with bed, desk, and sofa. About 323 square feet including balcony.
- Suites
- All previously listed features with an addition of a wet bar. Oversized balcony. Totals about 468 to 591 square feet depending on category.
