Niteroi class frigate
The Niterói class frigates are a class of warships of the Brazilian Navy
History
The Niterói Class Frigates were designed and built by the English shipyard Vosper Thornycroft in the 1970's. These ships were designated Mk 10 by Vosper Thornycroft and are the largest of a series of ships built by that firm for both foreign and buyers the Royal Navy ( type 21 frigate). They are undergoing an extensive modernisation in Brazil, with new weapons and electronics (as of 2005).

- F42 Constituição - launched 15/4/76, completed 31/3/78
- F43 Liberal- launched 15/4/76, completed 31/3/78

- F44 Independência - launched 2/9/74, completed 3/9/79
- F45 União - launched 14/3/75, completed 17/9/80
